Alaska

Here is a picuture taken last fall on a salmon fishing trip to Alaska with my Dad, Uncle Andy and a few others. We flew to the pretty little town of Yukatat. From there we took a bush plane down the coast to a primitive cabin on the new Italio river. We almost exclusively had the river to ourselves since we were at the only place to sleep within ten miles of the river. All other fishermen had to fly in for day trips and the stayed over on the old Italio river. Fun times, with lots of Silver Salmon

Easter Dresses

Here are the girls in their Easter Dresses. I had a fun time doing a little photo shoot after church. I figure that this will be the last time they will be able to fit into these dresses, so I had to take a few pictures while I had the chance. They are growing so fast!

My Third Love

Here is a picture of what I do for my third love after my wife and the two new munchkins. It used to be my second love, but it has been replaced by the little ones. It was a nice 5lb 20 inch Brown up on the South Fork River.

2 Month Doctor Check-up

On Thursday, April 17th, I took the girls to their 2 month check up. Saige is now 9.6 lbs. and Savannah is 9.1 lbs. They are both only in the 5th percentile, but is normal since they were 5 weeks early. The doctor says they are both gaining weight like they are supposed to and there are no concerns. However, Savannah has a bit of a spit-up problem, so we are working on finding the right formula for during the day time when I have to work. Both girls are now out of their preemie clothes and almost out of the newborn size. They are growing so fast, I can't believe they are 10 weeks old. It is very interesting to see each of their personalities develop. Saige is very laid back, calm, and just goes with the flow. Savannah on the other hand, loves to be held and we call her Princess Drama! In the picture with beenie's, Savannah is on the left and Saige on the right. Just by looking at the picture tells you a little about their personalities! Amazing!

New Additions!

Hello,
We have two new additions to our family! Here is how it all began.
February 2007: Paperwork started for the adoption process through LDS Family Services.
March 2007: I get a strange feeling that something isn't right and to pursue INVITRO.
May 2007: Consultation with Dr. Richards in American Fork.
June 2007: I start a vast amount of shots every day in my stomach, behind, and legs or arms. Plus, I would have to go in once a week to get my blood drawn. I made numerous trips to American Fork to monitor production process. Almost every other day for 2 weeks, I would make a trip down and back, 1 hr 15 min each way. I got to know the Green Gerble really well!
July 2, 2007: Still taking shots and numberous trips to the labs for blood draws, uggh! Dr. Richards and Dr. Slater ,determines it is time to do the egg retrieval. I took off a full week of work to make this happen. I had a job interview at Doxey Elementary for a school counselor position Monday morning at 8:00 AM. I had to be down to AF by 10:15 AM. Bryce and I got to AF just in time for the appointment when I learned that I got the job. They called me into a room and we sat for about 10 minutes. I went into a bigger room with an ultrasound machine and an operating looking table. There was the anesthesiologist, Dr. Richards, and Dr. Slater, and a nurse. Then I woke up. It was the most painful thing I had ever gone through, thus far. The shots were nothing at this point! Doctor said he would call the next day to see if any eggs were fertilized. They retrieved 12 eggs.
July 3, 2007: Still taking shots. But this was the longest day of my life. Doctor called (finally) around 4 PM. Reported that 10 out of 12 eggs had fertilized and I am to come back to AF to make the transfer.
July 4, 2007: Still taking shots every day. Went back to AF to have the eggs reimplanted. This clinic's limit is only 2, because of their high success rate. Doctor Slater informs me to do a blood test 10 days later.
July 14, 2007: Sunday morning, I wake up early and head to the nearest hospital to do the blood test. That evening at WSU fireworks, Dr. Richards called with the news after many blood tests and such. "YOUR PREGNANT!"
August 2007: 8 weeks along, our first doctors appointment and found out we had twins. I still had to take progesterone shots up until my 12th week of pregnancy.
October 2007: 3rd Doctors appointment we found out it was two girls!
November 2007: Bryce has the doctor double check the genders.
December 2007: Another Doctors appointment and I started to get high blood pressure and at risk for Toximia. Doctor says it is common with the first pregnancy and especially with multiples.
February 14, 2008: Went in for a routine checkup at 34+ weeks. Doctor decides I am in trouble with Toximia and puts me in the hospital for 2 nights.
February 16, 2008: 5:30 AM blood draw. 8:30 AM I got a call from my doctor and said he is going to deliver the babies at 9:00 AM. 9:56 AM, Saige is born weighing 5.8 lbs and at 9:57 AM, Savannah is born weighing 5.2 lbs.
February 20th: I get released from the hospital, however I stayed at the hospital in a room with no windows, a pump-up matress, a couch, TV, and a bathoom with a shower.
February 27th: Both girls are released from the NICU and we all got to go home!
